Clean Sweep

Though you might not care much about your make-up brush's sanitation, washing/cleansing your make-up brushes is a must do for not only due to thousands of sanitation reasons, but also to keep the maintenance of a clean face.  Old makeup that sits on the fibers of your brushes can lead to bacteria, and all sorts of things that get transfered to you face, that may contribute to breakouts and acne.  There are two methods I learned on cleaning my makeup brushes; spot cleaning and deep cleaning.  It is necessary to wash you brushes everyday, that is spot cleaning; and at least once a week, deep cleaning.  Continue reading for tips and the steps to take when cleaning your own make-up brushes.

Tips and Tricks

- Clean flat shader brushes by sweeping them up and down and clean dome shaped brushes with a swirling motion.

- When cleaning you makeup brushes, try you best not to put any soap, water, or cleanser where the brush head ends, and the handle meets, because if the water gets in there it's just gonna rust.

- You don't want to deep clean you brushes when you need them right away.  For it will take them quite a bit to dry up.  If you need to use your brushes right away, you use the spot cleaning method.

-You should be spot cleaning every day, and deep cleaning you brushes every week or so.

-If you thinking of cleaning a gel liner, or lip brush you gonna need something to help you break that down.  Because the baby shampoo isn't gonna get the wax feeling off you brushes.  So I would recommend using olive oil.

What You'll Need To Spot Clean
-Makeup Brushes
-Brush Cleanser
-Paper Towel/Wash Cloth (something you won't missed when used)

1. Lay brush down on the paper towel, and pour a little bit of brush cleanser onto the bristles.
2. Then work it back and forth on the paper towel, going back on forth where some of the brush cleanser liquid fell on the paper.
3. Repeat the process until no color pigment is going out of the brush onto the paper towel.
4.  Then you want to lay it out to dry, so what I do is get a separate piece of towel, lay the brush flat down, and just leave it there for a while.
5. To keep in mind: with a flat brush you just need to go back and forth; but with a dome brush you want to go in circles.
6.  After the dome brush seems clean you want to push the bristles together using you pointer finger and you thumb, just to reshape the brush.

What You'll Need To Deep Clean Eyeliner/Lip Brushes

-Makeup Brushes
-Baby Shampoo
-Paper Towel/Wash Cloth
-Olive Oil
1. Take a bit of olive oil to the paper towel.  You don't need a lot.
2. Then take you brush and move it back and forth.
3. Same with the Gel Liner Brush, circular motion.

What You'll Need To Deep Clean

-Makeup Brushes
-Baby Shampoo
-Sponge

1. First your gonna soak you sponge in warm water.
2. Apply a little baby shampoo onto the sponge, and use you finger to work that into the sponge.
3. Make the bristles of the brush wet, under the sink.
4. Then rub it back and forth on the sponge.
5. Then re-run it under the water.
6. Then set it to dry for over a night, or until it's completely dry.
7. You'll know it's clean when the stream of water is clear.
